Rebuilding the Naples Pier

A Stronger Future for an Iconic Landmark

Originally built in 1888, the Naples Pier has withstood multiple hurricanes, requiring reconstruction over the decades. The most recent devastation came from Hurricane Ian in 2022, which caused catastrophic damage, including the loss of 140 feet of the pier’s end and significant structural compromise. Given the extent of damage, City engineers determined a full replacement is necessary for safety and long-term resiliency. The new Naples Pier will incorporate modern design standards, enhancing durability, accessibility, and functionality while preserving its iconic status.

Key improvements include stronger pilings, elevated decking, and increased structural integrity to better withstand future storms. The City is awaiting final federal approvals before moving forward with demolition and construction, led by Turrell, Hall, and Associates (THA), MHK Architecture, and Shoreline Foundation, Inc. The revitalized pier will continue to be a beloved destination for visitors and residents alike.
